Midnight Romance Tutorial

In this tutorial I used the IB-RossanaCastellino-4-1 scrap kit by Foxy Designz.

You can purchase this scrap kit and a license through CDO. 

Please do not use this or any scrap kit without purchasing first.

Supplies needed:
PaintShopPro — I used X7 but any version will work
Scrap kit of choice.
Font of choice — I used Aphrodite Contextual.
DD Assorted Mask 4 by Dangerously Delicious Designz
DD Soft Mask 4 by Dangerously Delicious Designz

Plugins needed:
Eye Candy 4 — Gradient Glow
Eye Candy 6 — Perspective Shadow

Ready? Set? Go!

Open a paper of choice.

I used Paper6_FD from the IB-RossanaCastellino-4-1 scrap kit.

Resize the paper to 400x400 pixels, all layers checked.

Hit Shift + D on your keyboard to duplicate the file.

Close the original without saving.

On the new image,

apply a mask of choice or DD Assorted Mask 4,

Fit to Canvas, Source Luminance, Hide all Mask checked.

Right click your mask layer, and Merge Group.

Rename this layer Bottom Mask.

Open another paper of choice,

or Paper1_FD from the IB-kit.

Do not resize!

Paste as a new layer above the Bottom Mask layer.

Apply a mask of choice or DD Soft Mask 4,

Fit to Canvas, Source Luminance, Hide all Mask checked.

Right click your mask layer, and Merge Group.

Rename this layer Top Mask.

Open a sparkle element of choice,

or Element17_FD from the IB-kit.

Resize to 350 pixels wide,

all layers checked.

Copy and paste the sparkle element above the Top Mask layer.

Duplicate the sparkle element,

and change the settings of the duplicate to Luminance or Screen.

Merge the two sparkle layers together,

and rename this layer Sparkle.

Open a swirl element of choice,

or Element18_FD from the IB-kit.

Resize to 325 pixels wide,

all layers checked.

Copy and paste the swirl element above the Sparkle layer.

Objects – Align – Center in Canvas.

Apply a drop shadow of choice to the swirl element.

I used V:7, H:5, Opacity: 65%, Blur: 14.75.

Rename this layer Swirl.

Open a floral element of choice,

or Element8_FD from the IB-kit.

Resize by 30%, all layers checked.

Copy and paste the floral element above the Swirl layer.

Arrange as you see fit.

I arranged my floral element on the right side of the tag,

over the starting portion of the swirl.

Apply the same drop shadow as used on the Swirl element.

Rename this layer Floral.

Open a leaf element of choice,

or Element14_FD from the IB-kit.

Resize by 50%, all layers checked.

Copy and paste the leaf element below the Floral layer.

Arrange the leaf element underneath the edge of the floral element.

Apply the same drop shadow as used previously.

Rename this layer Leaf.

If you have a white background layer, hide this layer.

Right click a visible layer,

and merge visible.

Duplicate this new layer, and on the duplicate:

Adjust – Blur – Gaussian Blur at 6.00.

Change the settings of this layer to Soft Light.

Lower the opacity to 50%.

Choose a pixel font of choice,

add your credits, license, and tagger’s mark.

Choose a font of choice or use Aphrodite Contextual.

Foreground null and background a color of choice.

Add your name.

When happy with the placement and size, convert to raster layer.

Duplicate the name layer.

On the duplicate name layer,

Adjust – Add/Remove Noise – Add Noise at 50%,

with Gaussian and Monochrome checked.

On the original name layer,

apply a medium 3.00 thick gradient glow in a complimentary color.

Apply the same drop shadow as used previously.

Delete the background layer if you have one,

and any crop excess canvas.

Save as a .PNG, and you’re done!
